Uldren felt a certain relief when Boone finally stepped forward and touched his hand. Whatever Boone had to say wasn't something bad after all. Not that Uldren necessarily expected something bad, but he had been conditioned to never hope for anything good. There was a moment that Uldren searched Boone's face to derive the deeper meaning of what he was trying to say. The moment it clicked was visible - brows raising slightly. He took Boone's hand in his and stepped closer, his other hand resting on his hip, thumb gently rubbing as he drew in close.
"Are you sure? You don't need to do anything for my sake." Not that Uldren necessarily felt that Boone was doing it just to make him happy. He just wanted to be sure that Boone was confident in the decision. There was a somberness to the question that was tempered with a very closely guarded affection.
